Responsible Gaming at jatabat
Gaming is entertainment — and at jatabat we are committed to keeping it that way for every player across Bangladesh. Our responsible gaming framework gives you the tools, knowledge, and support you need to stay in control of your play at all times. This page outlines the protections in place, the limits you can set, and how to access help if you ever need it.
Safe Play at jatabat
At jatabat, responsible gaming is not a legal checkbox — it is a core operating principle. We believe that the overwhelming majority of our players across Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, and Rangpur engage with our casino games and sports betting markets as a form of entertainment, just as they might enjoy a film or a cricket match. Our job is to ensure the experience remains enjoyable, affordable, and entirely within each player's control.
The tools described on this page are free, immediately accessible from your jatabat account settings, and enforced without delay. We encourage every registered player to familiarise themselves with these features before they are ever needed — because the best responsible gaming is proactive, not reactive.
Age Restriction & Verification
jatabat operates a strict 18+ only policy. No person under the age of 18 may register an account, make a deposit, place a bet, or participate in any real-money activity on this platform. This is a non-negotiable requirement and applies to all players across Bangladesh regardless of the payment method used.
How We Verify Age
Every new jatabat account is subject to our Know Your Customer (KYC) age verification process before full access to real-money features is granted. Verification typically requires one or more of the following:
- National Identity Card (NID): Bangladesh NID cards display the holder's date of birth and are the primary verification document accepted by jatabat;
- Passport: An internationally issued passport may be submitted in place of an NID for players who hold one;
- Selfie verification: A live photograph may be requested to confirm the document belongs to the account holder.
Accounts that cannot be successfully verified, or where a player is found to be under 18 following a false age declaration at registration, will be immediately suspended and permanently closed. Any deposited funds will be returned to the verified payment source (bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Upay, or bank account) used at registration.
Payment-Level Age Controls
Because jatabat processes deposits via bKash, Nagad, Rocket, and Upay — mobile financial services that are themselves registered to verified Bangladeshi nationals — our payment layer provides an additional layer of age assurance. A minor cannot independently hold and operate a registered bKash or Nagad account without the knowledge of an adult account holder.
Deposit & Spending Limits
One of the most effective responsible gaming tools available on jatabat is the ability to set hard limits on how much money you can deposit within a defined time period. These limits are entirely voluntary, player-controlled, and enforceable at the platform level — no member of the jatabat team can override a limit you have set without your explicit written consent and a mandatory 7-day cooling-off period.
All deposit and spending limits are denominated in Bangladeshi Taka (৳). When you approach 80% of any active limit, jatabat will display an on-screen notification to alert you. When the limit is reached, further deposits or bets of the relevant type will be declined until the rolling period resets — or until you have submitted a formal limit increase request and the 7-day cooling-off period has elapsed.
To set or adjust your limits, navigate to Account Settings → Responsible Gaming → Limits after logging in. Changes to reduce a limit take effect immediately, ensuring you are always able to tighten your controls without delay.
Time-Out & Cooling-Off Periods
A time-out is a short-term break from the jatabat platform. It is designed for players who want to pause their gambling activity without committing to a longer self-exclusion. During a time-out, your account remains open but all deposits and gameplay are suspended for the duration you select.
jatabat offers the following time-out durations, all of which can be activated instantly from your account settings:
- 24-hour time-out: Ideal if you feel you have been playing for longer than intended in a single session and want to reset;
- 7-day time-out: A week-long cooling-off period suitable for players who want a short mental break from the platform;
- 30-day time-out: A one-month pause for players experiencing increased stress, financial pressure, or emotional difficulties;
- 90-day time-out: A three-month extended break, recommended when shorter pauses have not been sufficient.
Once a time-out is activated, it cannot be shortened or cancelled by you or by jatabat support staff before the selected period expires. This is intentional — the enforced delay prevents impulsive decisions to end a break early. Your account data, balance, and history are fully preserved and will be accessible again as soon as the time-out expires.
At the end of a time-out period, jatabat will send a notification to your registered email address and mobile number before reactivating full account access. If you decide you need a longer break, you can extend the time-out or transition to formal self-exclusion directly from the notification email.
- Log in to your jatabat account using your registered credentials.
- Navigate to Account Settings from the top-right menu.
- Select the Responsible Gaming tab.
- Click "Time-Out" and choose your preferred duration (24h, 7d, 30d, or 90d).
- Confirm your selection. The time-out activates instantly — you will be logged out immediately.
- A confirmation is sent to your registered email and bKash/Nagad number.
Self-Exclusion Programme
Self-exclusion is jatabat's most powerful responsible gaming tool. It is intended for players who recognise that their gambling has become — or is at risk of becoming — a serious problem and who want a firm, long-term break from the platform. Unlike a time-out, self-exclusion is a formal programme with stricter reinstatement conditions.
Self-Exclusion Durations
Players may request self-exclusion for the following durations:
- 6 months — recommended as a first step for players concerned about their play;
- 1 year — for players who need a longer, more structured break;
- 3 years — for players with a history of problem gambling;
- Permanent / Indefinite — the account is closed permanently with no reinstatement pathway.
What Happens During Self-Exclusion
When self-exclusion is active on your jatabat account, the following restrictions apply immediately and without exception:
- Your account is locked and you cannot log in;
- All pending withdrawals are processed to your verified payment method (bKash, Nagad, Rocket, Upay, or bank) within the standard processing window;
- Your account balance is preserved and returned to you in full;
- You will be removed from all promotional marketing communications;
- jatabat will make reasonable efforts to prevent you from creating a new account under a different username or email address during the exclusion period;
- Any bonuses that have not been fully wagered at the time of exclusion will be voided.
Reinstatement After Self-Exclusion
For exclusions of 6 months, 1 year, or 3 years: reinstatement is not automatic. At the end of the exclusion period, you must submit a written reinstatement request to support@jatabat. A mandatory additional 7-day reflection period applies before the account is reactivated. During that 7-day window, jatabat will provide information about responsible gaming resources available in Bangladesh. Permanent self-exclusions cannot be reversed under any circumstances.
How to Request Self-Exclusion
Self-exclusion can be initiated in two ways: (a) through your Account Settings → Responsible Gaming → Self-Exclusion, or (b) by emailing support@jatabat with the subject line "Self-Exclusion Request", stating your registered username, the desired duration, and your registered mobile number. Email requests are processed within 24 hours; in-app requests take effect within minutes.
Self-Exclusion at a Glance
| Duration | Reversible? |
|---|---|
| 6 Months | Yes, after period + 7 days |
| 1 Year | Yes, after period + 7 days |
| 3 Years | Yes, after period + 7 days |
| Permanent | No — final |
Recognising Problem Gambling
Problem gambling can develop gradually and is often difficult to recognise from the inside. The questions below are based on widely used responsible gaming assessment frameworks. If you answer "yes" to several of these questions — or if any of them cause you to pause — we strongly encourage you to contact our support team or activate a time-out or self-exclusion immediately.
Getting Help & Support Resources
If you believe you or someone you know may be experiencing a gambling problem, please do not hesitate to reach out. jatabat's responsible gaming support team is available 7 days a week, including during Eid, national holidays, and Bangladesh Standard Time (BST, UTC+6) evenings. All communications are treated with complete confidentiality.
jatabat actively cooperates with any third-party support organisation or licensed counsellor that a player nominates to act on their behalf. If a family member or healthcare professional contacts us on behalf of a player with documented consent, we will engage with them promptly and in good faith to implement appropriate account restrictions.
We also recommend that players struggling with gambling-related difficulties speak openly with a trusted family member, friend, or religious adviser. In Bangladesh, community and family support structures are among the most effective forms of intervention and accountability. You do not need to manage this alone.
Parental Controls & Underage Protection
Protecting minors from accessing gambling content is a responsibility shared between jatabat and the adults in each household. While our age verification process is robust, we also recognise that parents and guardians play an irreplaceable role in supervising their children's online activity.
Steps Parents Can Take
If you share a device with children or young people under the age of 18, we recommend the following practical steps:
- Use a strong, unique password for your jatabat account and never share it with anyone, including family members;
- Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your account so that even if your password is known, a second verification step is required to log in;
- Log out after every session rather than leaving your account open in a browser tab or app;
- Install parental control software on shared devices — tools such as Net Nanny, Bark, or built-in Android and iOS screen time controls can block access to gambling websites at the device level;
- Speak openly with your children about online gambling: what it is, why it is for adults only, and why it carries financial risk. Transparent conversations are more effective than silent restrictions alone;
- Review your browser history periodically if you suspect a young person in your household may have attempted to access online gambling platforms.
Reporting Underage Access Attempts
If you discover that a minor has attempted to register or has successfully accessed a jatabat account using false age information, please report this to support@jatabat immediately with the subject line "Underage Access Report". Include as much detail as you are able to provide. We treat every such report as a high-priority matter and will act within 24 hours to investigate and close any confirmed underage account.
Device-Level Filtering
For households in Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, and elsewhere in Bangladesh where multiple family members share smartphones or tablets, device-level content filtering is the most effective first line of defence. Both Android and iOS operating systems offer built-in family sharing and screen time features that can be configured without any additional software. We recommend using these tools in combination with jatabat's own account security features for comprehensive protection.
- Android: Google Family Link — set screen time limits, approve app downloads, and filter web content.
- iOS: Screen Time — block adult websites, set content restrictions, and require a passcode to change settings.
- Grameenphone / Robi / Banglalink: Contact your mobile carrier to enable content filtering at the network level for prepaid and postpaid lines used by minors.
- Home WiFi: Most modern routers support website blocking and parental control schedules — consult your router documentation or internet service provider.
